Hollands Tree Services – Christchurch Case Study

THE CLIENT

Hollands Tree Services is a well-established arborist business based in St Albans, Christchurch. With over 20 years of experience and a skilled team of 4, they specialise in safe, professional tree removal, pruning, and maintenance.

Known for their reliability and industry expertise, they service both residential and commercial clients across Christchurch.

THE CHALLENGE

Hollands Tree Services had a website that once ranked well for their main services but had been left untouched for 7 years. As a result, online leads had steadily declined.

Owner Adam wanted to grow the business, but his Google Ads costs kept increasing while leads decreased. There was no tracking in place — no Google Analytics — and the old ads account was running automated campaigns that were targeting irrelevant work like gardening and landscaping.

To make matters worse, around 30% of the website blog content was about gardening, which further confused Google’s understanding of the business. This led to a boom-and-bust workflow, with no consistent pipeline of jobs.

THE SOLUTION

We rebuilt the digital marketing foundation from the ground up:

New Google Ads Account – targeting high-intent arborist keywords with dedicated landing pages for conversions.

Tracking Infrastructure – set up Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console for accurate performance monitoring.

New Website Build – replaced the old, technically problematic site with a fresh, SEO-friendly design.

Local SEO Expansion – created 10 suburb-specific service pages to improve local search rankings and visibility.

THE RESULTS (First 5 Months)

  • 160 phone calls
  • 287 form submissions

447 total leads over 104 working days — averaging 4 leads per working day.

Even in just 5 months, the business shifted from unpredictable job flow to a steady, consistent pipeline.

The new ads and tracking mean Adam now knows exactly where leads are coming from and which campaigns are delivering the best ROI.

The Fixit Factory – Christchurch Case Study

THE CLIENT

The Fixit Factory, based in Dallington, Christchurch, is like the TV show “The Repair Shop” — if it’s broken, there’s a good chance Phil Garrett and his team can fix it.

From treasured household items to specialist equipment, they’ve been providing high-quality repair services for 6 years. With just 2 people on the team, they pride themselves on craftsmanship, problem-solving, and bringing items back to life.

THE CHALLENGE

The Fixit Factory’s old website was little more than a set of pictures, with no SEO or lead-generation capability. As a result, very few enquiries came in through the site.

The lack of online visibility meant they couldn’t grow the business, and owner Phil Garrett even had to take a part-time job to make ends meet.

With such a wide range of items they could repair, the challenge was also how to capture all those niche searches in a way that would bring in the right type of customers.

THE SOLUTION

We developed a plan to both drive immediate enquiries and set the business up for long-term online growth:

Google Search Ads – launched to start generating leads and enquiries quickly.

New SEO-Optimised Website – built with strong service page structure so it could rank for a wide range of repairs.

Content Expansion – created 30 blog posts to target the huge variety of potential search terms related to different types of repairs, helping “spread the net” online.

THE RESULTS (First 12 Months)

  • 711 online form submissions
  • 341 phone calls
  • 192 direct email enquiries

1,244 total leads over 249 working days — averaging 5 leads every single working day

For a small 2-person operation, this transformed the business from struggling to steady and profitable, with enough consistent work to focus entirely on repairs rather than worrying about finding the next job.
